A letter to you. To the PSU student, the go-getter and adventure-seeker. To the one who never gives up. This is for you, because to me, you are the reason I write and expose my vulnerable, yet grateful heart.
Welcome back to another year, or perhaps your first year at Penn State. Sweet summer sugar-rushed through the days and a new school year has begun. The sun, the babes, and the cool shades are still out; a brand new semester is already sinking into your skin like a flawless tan.
Many things have changed since you have gotten here. Perhaps you don’t know anyone in your classes, your teachers aren’t that great, your good friends graduated in the Spring, you miss your old pals back home or you just found a new cutie sitting across the table. See? People always like to play with our little souls. They change, they come, they go, they stay, but most importantly, they are the reason behind this whole thing called the “college experience” (aside from getting a degree of course).
Let me remind you that you’re not made from the past-midnight hours you spend cramming for that Biochemistry or Finance exam. You are made from the hours you spend learning about other people; their cultures, their charms, their uniqueness and whatever they have inside their top hats to give your life a certain touch of magic. Ah, and that’s the beautiful art of magic… it’s always unexpected.
Be strong, courageous, and grateful and let this year hit you with its best shot. Cheers to a new semester; a bag full of confetti, surprises and whatnots.
Your biggest fan,
