Trapped

Trapped is an anonymously submitted poem that focuses on freeing yourself from insecurities.

Have you ever felt trapped?

So trapped that you can’t break free?

And I don’t mean trapped physically,

I mean trapped mentally

Have you ever been trapped by your mind?

Your mind overwhelms you with thoughts

Thoughts and ideas; ideas and insecurities

Insecurities and…I don’t know, you choose

But so trapped that it stops you from living?

Have you ever been trapped by your mind?

So trapped that you’re afraid of improving

So you just stay in the same place, stuck.

Looking around at everyone else living, but

You’re dead inside.

Have you ever been trapped by your mind?

What are you afraid of more?

Not being good enough,

Or actually being good enough.

Are you afraid of being good enough?

Have you ever been trapped in your mind?

Don’t let insecurities and imagination

Stop you from being who you are.

Because if it does, if it holds you back from being you…

It is always hard to face your mind.

Hard to face your imagination, your insecurities.

But face it now and remember

It is never too late!

Don’t be afraid to be great
