Dr. Marc Lamont Hill to Speak in Alumni Hall

Dr. Marc Lamont Hill, a journalist, scholar, author and activist will be coming to Alumni Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 8 to present his lecture: “Building Community in an Hour of Chaos: Progress in the Age of Obama.”

Hill currently serves as the host of BET news and a political contributor for CNN. His journalism excellence has won him awards from the National Association of Black Journalists, GLAAD, and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

A native of Philadelphia, Hill completed his undergraduate studies at Temple University, graduating with degrees in Spanish and Education. He also went on to earn a Ph. D. at the University of Pennsylvania.

The event is sponsored by the Student Programming Association (SPA) an organization that seeks to enhance the educational, social, cultural, and recreational experiences at Penn State. 

While the event is free and open to the public, tickets are required. Tickets can be picked up at all Center for Performing Arts locations. The event will start at 8 p.m. in Alumni Hall, located in the HUB-Robeson Center.
